Lions 49th annual Charter Dinner was held recently at the Waveney House Hotel and was attended by members of Beccles, Bungay, Halesworth, Southwold, Lowestoft and Gt. Yarmouth Lions Clubs and their guests.

During and after the meal a musical accompaniment was given by a string trio 'Kavolini' and short speeches were given by Lion President Chris Ramsden, District Governor Lion Derek Prior and Lion Peter Aldous the local MP.

Presentations were made to and from Beccles Club and the President of Vera Club, Spain, Lion Pam Mattioli, with which they are twinned and presentations made to the recipients of the Ivan Holmes Award for services to the community, the main award being presented to Sarah Jane Lavington.

A good raffle was held and a very enjoyable evening was brought to a close at about 11.30pm. with members looking forward to the big one (50th) next year!
